Therefore, in the case of damage be sure to pay attention to exact fit of the replacement boot. Boots that are specifically designed for the joint can protect reliably against damage. In addition to the fit, the right material is crucial: modern drivelines transmit extremely high torques, which contribute to the increased heat in the joint. Most joints are thus protected ex-works by TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) boots which can withstand up to 240° F. Please note: If the original driveshaft is fitted with a TPE boot always look for the matching replacement TPE boot kit from GKN Automotive. Our boot kits contain the individual parts needed for professional repairs: boot, circlips, tightening straps, bolts, nuts, spacers, etc.
